Term Dates 2010/11

The College’s term dates for the 2010/11 academic year are:

Autumn Term
Start of term: Thursday 9th September 2010
Half term holiday: Monday 18th – Friday 22nd October 2010
End of term: Friday 17th December 2010

Spring Term
Start of term: Tuesday 4th January 2011
Half term holiday: Monday 14th February – Friday 18th February 2011
End of term: Friday 15th April 2011

Summer Term
Start of term: Tuesday 3rd May 2011
Half term: Monday 30th May – Friday 3rd June 2011
End of term: Friday 1st July 2011

Induction for Lower VI (two-year) students will take place from 9.30 a.m. – 3.30 p.m. on Thursday 9th and from 9.30 a.m. – 12.30 p.m. on Friday 10th September 2010

Induction for One Year students will take place from 1.30 p.m. – 3.30 p.m. on Friday 10th September 2010

Teaching will start for all classes on Monday 13th September 2010

Registration for Upper VI (returning students) will take place from 9.30 a.m. - 12.30 p.m. on Friday 10th September 2010.

Reports
Reports are sent out to parents throughout the academic year following the completion of each set of four teaching weeks.

Parent Speakers

The vast majority of our students are aiming to join the professions, specifically medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, accountancy, law, banking, engineering. Many of their parents currently work in one of these areas and we would welcome any contribution in the form of a seminar or lecture that parents would like to offer.   • 21 Shining A-level Stars

    Twenty one A* grades appeared on students’ A-level results sheets at Abbey College London amidst another very successful year for the College that saw 39% of A-level results being graded A* or A. This excellent achievement by Abbey College London’s students and staff is also set within the context of the College focusing on mathematics, sciences and economics; in other words what are regarded by many, including the top universities, as the traditional, more difficult A-levels.
